Djoliba Kan is a performance group that brings African rhythms from a small village on the banks of the River Djoliba to big and small villages in the U.S.
Led by joyful djembefola Namory Keita, the energy and excitement of traditional drum and dance festivals in Namory's village of Sangbarala, Guinea are brought to you through the melodious and explosive rhythms of the djembe and dunun drums.
Groove to the beat as a dynamic group of musicians dedicated to the music and culture of West Africa rip it up on stage!
Djoliba Kan is Malinke for "Voice of the River Djoliba." The River Djoliba is the life-source for the people of Sangbarala, a small village in the Hamana region of Guinea, and Djoliba Kan is thrilled to share the rich music - the voice - of this region of the world with you.
Djoliba Kan is available for performances, djembe and/or dunun classes, and cultural presentations.
